Veterinary Public Health and Epidemiology
The Department of Veterinary Public Health is engaged in teaching, research and extension activities since inception of VCI standards as per its mandate. Courses are offered regularly to B.V.Sc and A.H. students as per the standards of Veterinary Council of India. The post graduate programme was initiated in the year 2009. The laboratory has its own identification of team work, dedication, expertise, skill and punctuality and therefore it has been identified as leading laboratory in the College. Besides, worthy work has been done by this laboratory in the field of quality control and monitoring of milk and meat safety aspects. There are 15 post graduate students who have successfully completed their thesis in the areas of Food Hygiene and Safety, Zoonoses and Environmental Hygiene .
The Department has started microbial analysis laboratory for meat, milk, and egg samples analysis. The distinguished work of this department appears in the scientific journals of the national and international repute.
The Department is having Milk and Meat hygiene Laboratory, Environmental Hygiene Laboratory and Zoonsoes cum Epidemiology Laboratory as per MSVE 2016. All the required equipments and lab wares are available to undertake UG classes During the progressive, upward journey, the department has not only streamlined teaching research and other activities but also developed infrastructural facilities in the form of a renovated building admeasuring 1500sq feet to implement the research projects as well as to develop post graduate teaching /research facility with all modern educational equipments like audio visual facilities e.g. LCD Projector, Laminar Flows, Bio safety cabinets, ELISA reader, etc.
