The Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Histology was established during the year 1972 with the inception of the college of Veterinary and Animal Sciences on May 18th, 1972. The department offers various courses in the discipline of Veterinary Anatomy and Histology to the B.V.Sc. and A.H. students. In 1981, post graduate programme was started for award of M.V. Sc. in the subject of Veterinary Anatomy and Histology. The Department also offers Ph.D. courses in the discipline of Veterinary Anatomy and Histology.

Previously the institute and the Department was under the umbrella of SAU viz. Marathwada Krushi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani, which was later on transferred to the 1st Veterinary University in the state and third on the national map, viz. Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur with effect from 3rd, December, 2000.

• The department has carried out gross anatomical ,histological and histochemical work on Digestive ,Urinary,Genital and Endocrine systems as well as Skin of domestic animals and avian species
• Department also developed plastinated models of various organs of domestic species by various techniques.
